RARE OPPORTUNITY TO VOTE FOR SBC SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE
Santa Barbara has the rare opportunity to vote on June 2nd for one of the judges in the Superior Court of Santa Barbara County. In the U.S., about 87% of state appellate and trial court judges face voters. Voting for judges is part of the democratic process because it allows citizens to directly influence who interprets and applies the law, ensuring that the judiciary reflects public will and remains accountable to the people. The election will be between presiding Judge Thomas Adams, who has been there for nearly 50 years, and challenger, Local Attorney Luis Esparza, whom The Resource had an opportunity to interview and get to know.
